Our Japanese Tatami platform bed is the perfect expression of simple comfort. Simple as in easy to set up and enjoy, comfort as in lie back and relax. Embodying the Zen principles of simplicity in style and in harmony with nature, our unique Tatami Bed incorporates simple designs and themes that are comfortable to the senses and pleasing to the eye.
In addition, the tatami bed is an all-natural product. What this means is that there is nothing synthetic in our bed. No particleboard, no chemical stains or petroleum based paints, no toxic glues that off-gas into the sleeping area, are used in the bed. Made from solid wood and natural-based stains, our Tatami bed is an all-natural product made in harmony with the environment. In addition, the bedframe does not use any nails, screws or steel dowels for assembly. Instead the corners are joined together by means of a ingenious jigsaw locking system that is simple, sturdy, easy to put together, and easy to take down. The spine does utilize three bolts for a secure and sturdy foundation. The sturdy slats are also made of hardwood.
